New Guts’n Glory, Cleans up in Denmark

Christopher Wuttke, the owner of the recently launched German Rogers 46 Guts’n Glory, is a very happy chappy! After only four days of training, Christopher and his crew took part in the Classic Fyn Rundt event, the oldest sea race in Denmark and open to both mono and multi hulls and returned to home with all the chocolates.
Having competed against boats such as IMX 40s (the well known Exabyte) and Farr 40s (Mazda Danish Sailing Team), Guts’n Glory crossed the finishing line after 22 hours 33 minutes and 28 seconds, with the second boat to finish being the Farr 40 Magic Mazda, who crossed in 29 hours 23 minutes 37 seconds. This convincing win of over 7 hours secured the team line honours, class win and overall win. Very well done to them all and keep up the training for the Baltic Sprint Cup in July…in preparation for yachting against two sister Rogers 46s – Yeoman and Danebury.

Rogers Class 40 Wins Inaugural North American Class 40 Event
14th June, 2008
The historic North American, Marblehead-to- Halifax Ocean Race established in 1905, has for the first time been run exclusively for Class 40’s and acts as a feeder race for the Quebec РSt Malo Transat (10th – 20th July ’08). Additionally, this is the first dedicated Class 40 event to have been run in the US.
Tanguy de Lamotte, owner of Novedia Group S.E.T Environment and his crew of four have just secured a solid victory in this inaugural Class 40 event. The fleet of seven had an eventful race with a real mixture of weather but Tanguy’s team, after a poor start, sailed through the fleet and won by over an hour. On arrival Tanguy called the office to say “the performance of Novedia was fantastic in a wide range of conditions and we feel we have learned a lot about how to change gears and how to sail her. We are really looking forward to the Quebec-St.Malo and are ready to give it everything”. Pom Green the Managing Director of CMI, the builder of the Rogers Class 40’s, will be on the crew for the Transat and no doubt will return with ideas for improving production even more. Big congratulations from us all at RYD and Good Luck for the Transat!

Rogers Class 40s Launch in TJV Prologue Race
29th October, 2007
Le Havre is awash with heavy metal awaiting the start of the TJV this weekend. From new Open 60s to ORMA 60 trimarans and of course the Class 40s. All three of our new Rogers Class 40s are taking part and last Saturday during the Prologue race, the potential of our 40s became apparent.
Congratulations to Bruno Jourdren with Lord Jiminy (FR) who won the Class 40 Prologue race and also to Simon Clarke with Clarke Offshore Racing (UK) who came 4th out of a fleet of some 30 odd boats. Tanguy was on the track, but as we understand it, was busy with media on board. We are absolutely delighted for them and all the team at Rogers Yacht Design wish them well in the ‘big one’!
There is a nice piece in the Daily Sail today which has a quote from Tom Gall the 40 that came 2nd: “We kept it clean all the way around and pulled out a good lead but we could not catch the Rogers; they were real quick”. To read the full story log on to: http://www.thedailysail.com/
