Pierce Brosnan Launches IFAW 70

6th JUNE 2004

Accompanied by a complete media frenzy, Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye Bronson today teamed up with IFAW to formally launch the
new 70 foot research and education vessel at St Katherine Dock, London.

Portable Atlas Carbon Davit Wins Award

24th MAY 2004

The Atlas Carbon davit designed by RYD has been awarded the runners up place in the Innovation category at the Seas2004. This show takes place in Nice from 25th – 27th May for the first time and specialises in superyacht equipment and services.

The davit is available with a 1200 and 1600mm reach and upto 2 metres as a custom product. To date numerous have been produced and installed on superyachts such as
Mirabella V
and Phoenix as well as being supplied direct to yards such as Lurssen and Aberking & Rasnussen.

Chris Akabusi Launches Nick Bubb’s New Mini

12th APRIL 2004

Following a winter build programme at Ovington Marine, Nick Bubb was delighted to have his boat launched by the sports celebrity Chris Akabusi.

This new Mini will be the first to benefit from the newly designed and developed Rogers single spreader carbon wing rig which has already created quite a stir.

Ideal Home Exhibition Launch for Waterspace Plc Floating Office

With naval architecture by RYD and the build completed by Blondecell Ltd in Southampton, the first Waterspace Plc. floating office/home was given a fanfare at this years Ideal Home Exhibition in London.

The stand has been sponsored by the Daily Mail and form part of the shows main centre piece. The interior of this hull has been designed by the two TV celebrity designers Justin and Mark from the programme ‘The Million Pound property Experiment’.

RYD Designs New Mini Carbon Wing Rig

The Mini Class AGM in December made an exciting change to the Class rules. Carbon wing rigs for the 2004 season are now permitted and RYD has wasted no time in developing a new rig exclusively for their designs. Nick Bubb will be stepping the first mast in early April 2004.

Top British Solo Sailor Chooses Rogers Mini

Following the Southampton Boat Show, we are delighted to announce that Nick Bubb the UK’s leading Mini sailor has chosen to build a Rogers Mini for the 2005 Mini Transat. Construction starts at Ovington Marine in October 2003 with a planned launch for April 2004.

RYD Wins Contract to Design $10 million Fishing Boat Fleet

After months of negotiations and the development of conceptual designs, RYD was awarded the contract by MacAlister Elliott & Partners for the design of this 17.2m production fishing boat for Gulf waters. MEP are the fishery consultants acting for Yemeni Fish. The first vessel is scheduled to launch in July 2004.

Rogers Family Win Gold Roman Bowl for Second Consecutive Year

For the second consecutive year, Simon and his brothers won the Gold Roman Bowl, the overall trophy for the famous Round the Island Race. The race was won in the families refurbished and vintage Contessa 26. They already have their sights set on next years race in June which, could mark a historical 3rd year win!

Round Britain Rib World Record Smashed

On Monday 16th June 2003, Neil McGrigor, Tony Jenvey and Simon Rogers in their Revenger RIB smashed the under 30 foot Round Britain World Record by 9hrs and 43 min. The circumnavigation took 33hrs 11mins 4 secs.
