Rogers Launches New Turbo Charged, Carbon IRC 46

Great new Rogers carbon concept which is rapidly establishing itself as a class, with three sold to date. This design is more akin to a small TP52 than a traditional IRC yacht, guaranteeing a fast and controllable ride and at less than half the price! First of the 17.2m Fishing Vessels Launched

2nd March 2005

Following an uneventful delivery, the first off the production line in UAE has now arrived in Mukalla, Yemen. In the words of her Skipper “Force 8 Dubai to Hormuz and she rode like a champ. Steadying sail doing what it’s suppossed to do. We’ve got ourselves a great boat! Hats off to Rogers Yacht Design!” They eagerly await the rest of the fleet.

Two More Optimum 60’s in Location

28th February 2005

The first Optimum 60 was launched last August and is now moored at Thorpe Park, London; she is primarily used as a weekend pad for waterskiing. The next has now been barged from Southampton to London and is moored at Riverside Quarter, Wandsworth. Production continues.

First Expedition: Arctic Circle

8th October 2004

Song of the Whale recently returned to the UK following a very successful maiden expedition to the Arctic Circle, focussing on Blue Whales. The boat made many port stops in Iceland where ‘education’ was the basis of their work. The team are now on their way to the warmer waters of the Med. to carry out acoustic research with Sperm Whales.

Round The Island Race Historic Win Near Miss!

27th JUNE 2004

Racing again in this years Round the Island Race in their family Contessa 26 ‘Rosina of Beaulieu’, Simon with his brothers Kit and Dave Rogers narrowly missed an historic 3 consecutive win overall victory by just over three minutes on corrected time.

Despite this they were absolutely delighted with their Silver Roman Bowl trophy which gave them second overall under IRC out of a record 1682 boats. They also won Class 12 and were part of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club Team which won the Team Trophy overall. Not a bad days work; well done boys!

Alice III Storms to Victory

13th JUNE 2004

The classic yacht ‘Alice III’ designed by RYD was just one of the 110 boats that competed in this years Dresden Challenge racing from Gurnsey to Jersey.
Boats of all shapes and sizes took part including a Volvo 60, production one designs and one-offs.

In force 2-3 north westerly and brilliant sunshine, Alice romped home 8th across the line and first overall on corrected. Well done to all team members!
