Rogers Class 40 hull 2 now launched

Hull 2 has now arrived in Lymington for British owner Mark Wynne-Smith. She will be chartered by well known previous boat Captain of Hugo Boss, Simon Clarke under the banner ‚ÄòClarke Offshore Racing‚Äô. Simon is about to set off on his 1000 mile qualifier in readiness for competing in the TJV race, starting from Le Harve at the beginning of October. First shots of Rogers Class 40 sailing

Hull 1 is now sailing and already creating a stir. In the words of Tanguy de Lamotte’s double handed partner Nick Bubb, “this boat is outrageously quick, and is creating a big stir amongst our fellow 40 competitors.” She has just completed her Class 40 measurement and is fully optimised for minimum weight and maximum righting moment.

Hull 2 is also launched for Mark Wynne-Smith and will be chartered by the well known previous boat captain of the Open 60 Hugo Boss, Simon Clarke.

First of the Rogers 40s hits the water in Lymington, UK

Hull one of the Rogers 40s for Tanguy de Lamotte has just been launched and had its rig stepped here in Lymington. Trials sails are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, just in time to burn through some of the Cowes Week fleets…if there’s wind and get the jungle drums beating! Lots of smiles all round.

Hilary Lister Achieves Yet Another Solo Record!

On Tuesday 24th July, Hilary Lister claimed yet another solo record as the first quadriplegic to sail solo Round the Isle of Wight. Her previous was in 2005 as the first to cross the English Channel.

She completed this in her new Artemis 20 Me Too, an AC styled boat designed for abled and disabled sailors alike and using her unique ‘sip-puff’ system to control steering and sail adjustment. Her sights are now set on her ‘Round Britain Dream’ her next solo challenge, which is scheduled to take place in the summer of 2008. This is yet another amazing achievement; well done Hilary!

Breaking News….. Shogun Breaks Speed Limit in First Major Offshore!

29th July 2007

Shogun (3rd Rogers 46 to be launched) has ‘just’ finished the Audi Sydney Gold Coast Offshore Race, the first true test of the boats offshore capabilities. She topped out at 29.8 knots, is currently lying 2nd overall in IRC and first in division. Simon has just spoken to a very ecstatic Rob Hanna, the owner, at 6am Oz time who could only describe the experience as pure exhilaration and completely unbelievable with the boat being totally controllable at 29.8 knots, albeit a bit wet! In Rob’s words, ‘Just wait until people hear about this!’

New Rogers 36′ Performance Cruiser, flies at IRC Nationals

STS Antilope a new Rogers 36′ performance cruiser designed specifically for Willem Wester recently took part in the UK IRC Nationals, having only just been launched. Willem and his crew finished 3rd in Class 1 having had some exceptional racing. Very well done to you all! This ‘family yacht’ is a great example of a modern performance cruiser that can be IRC raced successfully.

First Rogers Class 40 leaves the CMI factory in Thailand

Many await the arrival of the first Rogers Class 40, which will launch in UK late July for Tanguy de Lamotte. We can now confirm that the boat has weighed in just under minimum Class weight with maximum Class righting moment and is likely to be
one of the most competitive boats in this developing fleet. Watch this space for more updates as they happen!!

Danebury Sailing Unlimited have a great Round The Island Race!

Sailing under the name of Danebury Sailing Unlimited, the Rogers 46 was chartered by Eamonn O‚ÄôNolan and his charter company Sailing Unlimited. Racing with a scratch crew Eamonn and his team enjoyed a spectacular days racing alongside the Farr 52’s, TP 52’s and many of the other larger high performance race boats. Another Win for Yeoman XXXII

14th June 2007

At the 153rd New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta Yeoman XXXII particularly proved herself in light conditions having convincingly won Class 2. Looking at the overall corrected times of all the boats in Classes 1 and 2, Yeoman XXXII would have been placed 3rd equal with the TP52 T-Squared and behind the two big boats, Rambler and Blue Yankee.

Rogers Class 40 Rockets soon to Launch

The first of the new Rogers Class 40’s for Tanguy de Lamotte arrives in UK at the end of June and
